Denver & Salt Lake (D&RGW) between Clay and Crescent, in Jefferson and Boulder Counties Tn rr c1903 in use   UP 18 tunnels, Tunnel 1 easily seen from to north of S.R. 72 at the mouth of Coal Creek Canyon, Tunnels 1-4 are in Jefferson Co., Tunnel 5 is on Jefferson-Boulder Co. line, Tunnels 6-13 are in Boulder Co., Tunnel 9 collapsed during construction, Tunnel 14 is on the Boulder-Jefferson Co. line as the rr reenters Jefferson Co., Tunnels 15 and 16 are in Jefferson Co.Tunnel 17 caved in during construction, Thus Tunnel 18 became current Tunnel 17
